Review : Great for 3D content creation... if you can stand the heat.
I use nVidia cards for rendering scenes from 3d content creation software (in this case Blender with its Cycles GPU renderer), so this review will almost certainly not be relevant to most of the people looking at this item. I got this as an upgrade over my current EVGA GTX 550 Ti (which I also used for 3D rendering but didn't have enough RAM for large scenes). I do realize that these cards are made with gaming in mind but give such good performance (thanks to those CUDA cores) that they are a much better deal than either the Quadro or Tesla GPUs. The only real downside is the heat that these generate. My old 550 would hover at a steady 80C while under load (which is for a very long time in this sort of application since the GPU will work at 99-100% for the duration of the render - which can take between a few minutes to months if you are rendering a longer animation). This GTX 570 has the advantage of having 2.5gb RAM onboard but also generates a LOT more heat thanks to its higher...
I think, explains the few grievance apropos EVGA GeForce GTX570 HD 2560MB GDDR5 SLI Ready Graphics Card (025-P3-1579-AR) not fitting or leaking.
