Review : ASUS Takes the Prize
There are several GPU aftermarket designers out there, but after having issues with a brand new EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Superclocked Edition, I decided to do some research on reviews for aftermarket designers. Before I discuss why why ASUS is a superior aftermarket designer, let's look at the operating conditions and physical condition of the new EVGA card when it arrived.

To begin, when I noticed that my EVGA card was getting really hot running Planetside 2 at max settings, I knew something was wrong. I did not know what the operating temperature was at this point, but decided to install EVGA Precision X and adjust the fan speed. Since I did not know what speed to set it at, I decided to put it on auto and adjust the fan curve. At 40 C the speed was set to 40%, the minimum setting, with no noticeable fan noise above idling, but there was a nasty mid/high-pitched sound resembling an almost imperceptible annoying squeak. This made me feel like there was something wrong...
