The GTS250 from Galaxy Tech is a OK card that was able to play most games on High settings and handled Crysis to an extent. Kinda funny how Crysis always used as general testbed for performance. But it true, it is quite demanding on the entire system.
Anyways, it played Crysis on high settings, AA on x8, 1600x900 at about 40 frames per second. - not too bad really.
This is a good card to buy if you are on a budget however, you might want to be prepared replace it in about a year. Which is exactly what I had to do. Im under the impression that cards by galaxy might not be of the highest quality, so I took mine apart after it met an untimely death due to failing video RAM.
Anyways here is what I saw. After a year of use the thermal compound placed between the fansink and the processor was still in great condition. Nice and moist. The Pcb seemed to be high quality but however I have seen much better pcb soldering from other companies. But this card run...
I believe, explains the few complaints respecting Galaxy GeForce GTS 250 1 GB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 DVI/HDMI/VGA SLI Ready Graphics Card, 25SGF6HX1RUV not fitting or leaking.
